The Attic

Storage, Living, and Water

The attic at Roseland Cottage was primarily a storage space, and it still serves that purpose today. But the space was put to other uses, too. One of the two cisterns that were part of the 1846 construction was located in the attic. It’s apparent that one of the gables was turned into a living space. Other spaces are partitioned off, but the purpose for these divisions is not known. While the attic is not usually available for public viewing, once a year this space is included when we go Behind the Scenes.
