Clarence’s Sword

Clarence was given this commemorative sword in recognition of the work he did for the Washington Inauguration Anniversary committee. The celebration is considered the first national holiday, and the parades and other events which took place over three days in April 1889 in New York City were attended by an estimated one million people.
