Franklin Davis

Franklin Bowen was born in 1860, sixth son of Lucy and Henry Bowen. He graduated from Yale College in 1884 where he was one of the founders of the Wolf’s Head senior society. Frank worked at The Independent until his retirement. He returned to Woodstock, Connecticut where he lived with his brother, Ned, at Roseland Cottage. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography. An enthusiastic traveler, Franklin died in 1940.
