Lincrusta Over Time

Sunlight, air circulation, and repeated cleanings took a toll on Roseland Cottage’s Lincrusta. As early as the 1910s, the wallcovering may have started to lose its luster. Lincrusta that was protected from the degrading effect of those forces still glitters. This photo shows the difference in Lincrusta that was protected by furniture, and the Lincrusta that was fully exposed.
