Roseland Cottage

The Gable Room

Probably in the 1880s, the space under the front gable was turned it into a living space. It may have been for Bowen children, or more likely for staff. Over the years, rooms at  Roseland Cottage were put to different uses as more space was required for the growing family, and more staff was needed, too. The window at the end of the gable is the trefoil window under the main front gable of Roseland Cottage. The pendant hanging from the gable is visible through the window.
