Toy Soldiers

These cast lead toy soldiers, found in the attic at Roseland Cottage, are from the late nineteenth century. We don’t know whom they belonged to, or who played with them. Some think that the uniforms of the soldiers suggest Welsh regiments, which would have suited the Bowens. The family was proud of their Welsh heritage. The soldiers are now in Ned’s room at Roseland Cottage.
